Happy New Year, friends!
As I step into 2026, I can’t help but pause and reflect on the year behind us. 2025 was a challenging year — full of hard losses, unexpected struggles, and moments that stretched me more than I ever imagined. Some days felt heavy, and yet, through it all, photography remained a bright light in my life. Capturing your families, your milestones, and your joy lifted my spirits in ways I can’t fully put into words. Even in the busiest, most demanding seasons, the moments I spent behind the camera reminded me of the beauty and grace that still surrounds us.
The photo above is from our annual fall break trip to the Smoky Mountains, at Cades Cove. What a place of peace and reflection! That trip reminded me how essential it is to pause, breathe, and soak in the beauty around us — both in nature and in our everyday lives.
One new practice became my anchor this past year: reading the Bible chronologically for the first time. I’ve done many studies before, but reading it in order gave me a clearer view of God’s story — His love, faithfulness, and plan. It became a daily source of comfort, guidance, and perspective when the world felt overwhelming. I plan to continue this practice for the rest of my days. Thank You, Lord, for your comfort. Please open my eyes to more. Never stop teaching me.
If you’re curious about this approach, I highly recommend The Bible Recap with Tara-Leigh Cobble. The resources are thoughtfully organized, the app helps you stay on track even if life gets busy, and it offers a fresh perspective that has been truly life-giving for me.
Even in the midst of challenges, there were countless blessings to celebrate. I am deeply grateful to all of my families and seniors who trusted me to capture their stories in 2025 — especially returning families. Your laughter, love, and everyday moments inspire me and remind me why I do this work. Photography lifted me, stretched me, and gave me joy even when the season was hard.
Looking ahead, I’m thrilled for what 2026 has in store! I’ll be offering mini sessions soon — perfect for capturing quick, joyful moments — and I’m also expanding into sports and athlete packages, with details coming shortly. I can’t wait to celebrate your milestones and stories in even more ways this year.
Here’s to a year filled with connection, laughter, and memories — the messy, beautiful, real moments that make life so special. Thank you for letting me do what I love every day, for trusting me with your stories, and for reminding me why photography is such a gift.
With gratitude and hope,
Mandy
